Robi4 Fact Sheet
Robi4 Architecture & Planning Inc is a firm specializing in architecture, design, and planning. It was founded in 1999 by Michael D. Robinson and Carolyn D. Robinson in Memphis, Tennessee, to meet the demands of growing clientele in both the public and private sectors. In 2014, the firm expanded its operations to San Diego, California, where it continues to build on its founding mission and design philosophy: preserving the past and building the future through enduring designs and relationships.
Here are several key areas in which the executive team behind Robi4 joins forces with clients and collaborators:
Cities & Urban Design
Organizations, Foundations, and Associations
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
As a minority-owned and operated firm, Robi4 is committed to being a model of ethical practice within our professional community. In keeping with this commitment, we help lead change from within by championing the mentorship, camaraderie, and transparency we found in short supply as young, African-American professionals. Past efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion include “Overcoming the 2%:” a panel co-organized by principal architects at Robi4 with professional associations in San Diego, that addressed disparities between licensed black architects and their colleagues. Current efforts include historic profiles and career retrospectives highlighting pioneering African-American architects. Read the first installment on L. Quincy Jackson here.
Strategic Partnership Model
Strategic partnership is central to Robi4’s business model, enabling us to cultivate a network of reputable clients and collaborators through projects that enhance and diversify our services. This model is also what enables us to remain a 100% employee-owned firm.
